i loved the time in this property. they gave me neat and spotless room with a nice balcony, all facilities, as example. location: the hotel was close enough to reasonably priced, main street of port and the marina, bars, restaurants and shops.

Really great experience there. Delightful accommodation with incredible setting adjacent to Freestyle at Port Douglas and Australia
Wi-Fi was pretty slow.

Walking into the apartment was disappointing due to a strong smell of dampness and visible mold patches on the wall. The creaky bed and damp bedding added to the discomfort. No ladders to access the pool hindered ease of use, especially for those with mobility issues like knee problems.

The Freestyle is a fairly basic resort in a good location about a 5 minute walk to 4 Mile and 10 minutes to the heart of Port Douglas. The manager Anne, was extremely helpful and knowlegeable giving us some good tips on things to do around Port Douglas and booking our activities. The facilities were always clean and tidy.
We found the 2 bedroom apartment to be very small for 2 adults and 2 teenage children. The galley kitchen was far too small to actually cook a meal for four and the only table was outside on a small balcony which was frequented by mosquitos at night. The lounge area was very small with the lounges themselves rather uncomfortable. Overall, we felt the apartment was cramped.

The larger than average fridge and great kitchenette meant we could feed ourselves and saved lots of money for tours and extras.
The common room was a tad sombre and lacking much in the way of diversions.

The manager was very helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable ,clean and the balcony faced north, nice and warm for Melbournites! Room was serviced once in the week which was lovely and the resort was close enough to walk into Port Douglas. We would stay there again. Jan
Pool was a little shallow.

Excellent location. We walked in and out to shop, have coffee and evening drink/meals.Only a short stroll away from the beach. Our room with balcony overlooking pool was very relaxing.
Pool water whilst we were there was fairly cool, although for most of the year that is probably desirable.

Family with children paradise
The pool area was perfect for kids and adults alike, had these shallow areas for the little ones to splash around, and I enjoyed a nice swim while keeping an eye on my family. Anne, wow, she really helped us figure out what to do around here, giving us tips on family-friendly activities and where to grab some decent coffee.
It was a bit pricey but worth it for the experience.

Quiet resort, just a short walk from Four mile beach. Has a nice pool, but what use is a pool when you have warm ocean water? :) We stayed a week in June, so winter season. Still very nice and warm (24-26 degreesC), and no jellyfish. The hotel staff, Anne and Jason were very helpful with anything we needed, cabs, car rental, booking of trips on the reef, rainforest, etc... We also were arranged quickly for single-double bedrooms.
The apartment we got (2 bedrooms) didn't have a dining table inside, only outside, and unfortunately, but this is not the hotel's fault, some people in other apartments were smoking, so we got cigarette smoke coming up for breakfast and sometimes dinner time.

We had a lovely quiet room overlooking gardens and with a view to the hills. Anne was a very friendly and informative host, who was incredibly helpful in giving advice on family-friendly activities and booked tours and transfers for us. We are already planning our next trip back.
